  • Do I need a motorcycle license to drive?

    No. In the state of Florida, Slingshots are classified as an “autocycle” making them exempt from motorcycle license requirements. Be sure to check state laws when driving out of state.

  • What qualifications are needed to drive?

    25+


    Valid Driver’s License


    Proof of Insurance


    Proficient in driving a manual for some models

  • Is a security deposit required?

    Yes. There is a $500 hold on a credit card or debit card. The hold will be released in full within 48 hours if there is no damage to the slingshot and no further fees incurred (such as late fees). It could take 5-7 business days for this hold to drop off depending on your bank, although most our customers see this drop within a few hours.



  • Can I get a full refund?

    No. The $100 deposit that saves your date is non-refunable. Please see our cancellation policy for full details.

  • Do I need to wear a helmet?

    In the state of Florida, if you are over the age of 21, helmets are recommended but not required. Anyone under the age of 21 is required to wear a helmet. Half-shell and full-face helmets are included with your rental and available upon request.

  • How many miles are included?

    All rentals include unlimited miles.



  • Is there a place I can leave my car?

    Yes. You are welcome to leave your vehicle in our parking lot during the duration of your rental.



  • How fast do they go?

    As fast as the speed limit sign allows you to go.



  • What if I am late returning the slingshot?

    Nobody wants their plans ruined by a slingshot not returning on time. We work really hard to keep everyone's departure times on schedule. Out of respect for everyone's time, there are late fees applied to your reservation once your time has expired. Please allow yourself plenty of time to return to the showroom on time.



  • Can we take them out of town?

    Yes, however with boundaries. The slingshots can be taken out of state with prior approval. Within Florida, there are certain counties in South Florida and Western Florida that we do not allow the slingshots to travel to. If you have any questions about how this may affect your trip, please give us a call and we will be happy to assist you.

  • What is your cancellation policy?

    If you call to cancel or reschedule 72 hours or more prior to your reservation, then your $100 deposit becomes a credit towards a different day and any remaining balance can be refunded back to the original form of payment. If you cancel or reschedule less than 72 hours prior to your reservation, for ANY REASON, there is a $100 cancellation/reschedule fee that is deducted from your deposit. Any remaining balance towards your reservation will become a credit towards a new date. When rescheduling, your credit will carry over to your new date, however pricing at the time of booking will not carry over. Your new reservation will be booked at the current rate. Promotional rates can not be carried over or extended past the expiration date when rescheduling.



  • What if it rains?

    Welcome to Florida and it's wildly unpredictable weather. If you choose to continue with your reservation and pick up your slingshot, you will not be reimbursed or credited for any time missed due to weather. If you are concerned about weather, please reschedule your trip.



  • Can I drive it on the beach?

    No. These can not be driven in the beach sand. You are welcome to drive to the beaches and park in a parking lot to enjoy the beach.



  • What is the difference between manual and autodrive?

    Manual transmission may also known as “stick shift”, “stick”, “standard transmission”, or “clutch”. It is a transmission where the driver uses a stick shift to change gears. The slingshots are a 5-speed. You will have to do a test-drive during check-in to demonstrate you are proficient in driving a manual. The automatic transmissions are the transmissions found in most cars today that automatically change the gears for you.



  • How long does check in take?

    The check-in process takes about 30 minutes if you are a first time renter with us. Please plan your day accordingly to account for this.



  • What kind of gas does it take?

    Premium 93 fuel. For gas mileage, Slingshots average around 18 miles per gallon. The gas tank holds 10 gallons.



  • Do the slingshots have storage?

    Yes. There are locking compartments behind both seats that can hold a regular size backpack, small duffel bag, or large purse. Carry-on bags will not fit in these compartments. There is also a locking glove compartment.



  • Do they have a radio?

    Yes. All of the slingshots have sound systems that are blue-tooth enabled. So get your favorite playlist ready to roll!
